The flimsy book came in the mail on Friday. Even though I get packages delivered all of the time (ughh Amazon Prime), getting this brown envelope made me squeal with excitement and hope that this would end my long nights putting this chick to bed. The book had few pages, but they were packed with text.
Finally it was time. 8 pm on Friday. Dimmed the lights and told Scar that we were going to be reading a brand new book about a BUNNY! “Isn’t this so cute, Scarlett?!”
“YES, MOMMY!”
There was promise. She didn’t shoot me down right away like I thoughts she would. Scarlett actually seemed like she was going to go along with my plan. Through the first 5 minutes or so, she sort of paid attention. She messed with my mind, yet again. The constant squirming, talking to herself, and asking questions the next 10 minutes or so actually made me more frustrated than anything. Did you ever see that book “Go the F to Sleep?” Yeah, that book was entering my mind at the time.
The Rabbit book does have good intentions. Repetitive and simple, it was putting me to sleep. It even lets you insert your own kids names, which is kinda cool. I am thinking that maybe in six months or so she might be easier to “hypnotize.” For now, Scarlett is too smart to succumb to a silly book that supposedly almost guarantees a sound sleep for children. Sorry, author Mr. Ehrlin, but you are no match for my 2 and a half year old.
