The only thing that sucks about this newer series “Catastrophe” is that the pilot season is only six episodes, each a little less than a half hour. One of the highlights of my long Labor Day weekend was binge-watching this hilarious, raunchy and relatable show while at the gym. The quick overview: American man Rob visits London. Meets Irish woman Sharon. Rob gets Sharon pregnant. All sorts of shenanigans ensue.
The show is definitely a different direction than a lot of the serious dramas that we like to watch and obsess over. It is laugh out loud funny, but not corny. Rob (played by Rob Delaney) is kind of cute in a weird way, and Sharon (played by Sharon Horgan) is adorable with a killer accent. Both character’s interactions with “friends” Fran and Chris are incredibly awkward, yet addicting. I couldn’t get enough. Some parts are a bit “real” and kind of sad, but overall the show SHOULD win some awards. Lucky for Prime Members, “Catastrophe” was supposed to start filming the second season this summer. Watch. This. Show.
